Morillion is almost the forgotten ski destination in the Grands massive ski area, which is 4th largest in France so that’s pretty large. With over 250km of intermediate pistes its an off the beaten path ski destination for families.
The old village has one ski lift system that rapidly whisks you up and away from the relatively low lying accommodation to the Grands massif ski area.
Sixt and Samoens offer quaint charm with plenty of history. SIxt dates back to 1114 when an abbey was constructed here and the medieval charmremains in the area.
For skiing you must try the 14km long blue piste know as the Piste des Cascades.
Nightlife is pretty sedate so not one for party people but ideal for first time skiiers or families with little ones looking for that alpine get away.
