The vast majority of the skiing in Megeve is tree lined and below 2200m which sees Megeve season normally end in mid/late March. The ski area, to which Megeve is the crown, of Mt Blanc Evasion which links St Gervais, Les Gettiaz, Hauteleuce & Flumet. This has a choice of most expositions guaranteeing sun most of the year and with a combined distance of 450km to blast about on it’s a well poised option for families and corporate skier as well.
However, the lift infrastructure is ageing and this shows when standing in frustrating lift queues in the peak of Feb. Over 50m euros of investment has been promised by the Companie des Alpes wo now own a 50% stake in the area so here’s looking forward with hope. And if St Gervais ever links to Les Houches it could offer unparalleled options ito the Chamonix valley. Fingers xed.
