Les Gets is a small attractive village on the ascent up via the Joux Plaine, on of the Tour de Frances most gruelling climbs. Its nestles comfortably below Mozine and Avoriaz as part of the 12 villages that make up the Portes du Soleil.
This makes it connected to one of the worlds largest ski areas.
The traditional town centre has lots of cosy restaurants, beautiful churches and lovely chalets. In our opinion one of the nicest in the Alps.
The skiing is relatively low in altitude but excellent for beginners and intermediates. The advanced are not really catered for here however but the wooded pistes are excellently groomed and the views for the Mt Cheri side, in particular, offer a great panorama of the village and slopes, with Mont Blanc beyond.
Being low in altitude exposes the area to rainy westerlies throughout the season but the snow cannon coverage is relatively high.
The summer season converts Les Gets into a world class Mountain biking resort with the UCI world DH cup often featuring here.
